Why? Why? and Why?
This is the question we have always been asking ourselves without getting clear answers. Partly because we are scared of learning the truth but partly because we deep down we know that our lack of knowledge is endless.

Why we started travelling is the question we get asked a lot in our adventures? We used to let it slide and go like, well! we want to have some fun! or we enjoy travelling! and something like that. But after being asked like million times, we feel there is a need to put it out why we are doing what we are doing. This is due to two groups of people that we met along the way on our journeys.

First, the curious ones. These people always want to know, they cannot be kept in the dark. What they do with the knowledge is not important, for them just knowing what other people are doing and why they are doing it gives them motivation and drive to move forward. We can say they are driven by other people’s reasons, goals and ambitions.

Second, the not sure ones. These are most of our folks. They want to take the first step to wilderness or they are at the beginning of their adventure but they ask like trillion questions both about themselves and about others in the same boat. They are always not sure! The thing is most of these folks expect everything to be the same they dreamed before embarking on this voyage. And if anything feels a little off-course, they take a step back and start questioning their decision instead of correcting their sail.

Now, whichever group you belong to does not really matter. Because at the end of the day travelling is an adventure just like any other adventure. All folks on earth give you their reasons but if their reasons do not align with your core values, you are not going to move an inch from your couch.
So, next time you ask me why I do what I do, just remember our standard answer, “why not, life is too short to dig ourselves into reasons in everything we do”. Sometimes, you just have to get out and embark on a journey because you feel that way. The reasons and plans will come along as you travel. You do not always need a plan. Life is an adventure and to get the best out of it, you need to experience and solve the mysteries as you move along.

See you in the next adventure!

  2. Thanks, guys. It’s like you read my mind. I am in the second group. I have been thinking, researching and planning for years still not sure. The problem is kids grow up pretty fast and time seems to have flown away. I wish I dared to get out and do it. This summer is going to be different though. For the first time, we are going camping for a week.
Hopefully, we gonna keep doing it. We all have to start somewhere. Just baby steps. Wish us luck!
